2-Alarm Fire in Salem

The blaze broke out around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters were at the scene of a two-alarm fire on Senter Street in Salem Tuesday night.


The fire broke out around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at 21 Senter St., according to emergency radio broadcasts. The garage was fully involved on arrival, and had extended to a single-story, wood framed dwelling. The fire was heavy at times, and firefighters were forced to move to a defensive attack for a time.

The fire was reportedly knocked down around 9:30 p.m., about an hour after it started.

Patch blogger Bob Gibbs was at the scene of the fire, and he has posted numerous photos at the scene as well as information from neighbors with whom he spoke.
