Grand Marshal

The Salem Holiday Parade Board of Directors is very pleased to announce this year's Grand Marshal. Anthony "Blue Ear" Smith. Anthony is a 5 year old Salem boy who has been turned into a super hero by Marvel Comics. His mother, Christina D'Allesandro, wrote to Marvel, looking for help. Anthony did not want to wear his hearing aid because "super heroes don't wear hearing aids". Anthony has mosaic trisomy 22. He has only partial hearing in his left ear. Marvel artists designed a young super hero that is based off Anthony, that will grow and become an Avenger. Now Anthony is proud to wear his blue hearing aid.
