State Liquor Store on Route 28 Could Double in Size

The Eagle Tribune has reported that a legislative committee is expected to recommend funding for three new state liquor stores, including one in Salem.

According to the report, the existing store on Route 28 would be replaced by one double its size. The new 20,000-square-foot store would take a couple of years to open.

The current liquor store is located just over the Massachusetts border on 417 South Broadway.
