Salem Employees Accuse Selectman of 'Abhorrent Behavior'

Selectman Stephen Campbell is under fire for allegedly interrogating a Salem firefighter while at Market Basket.

Selectman Stephen Campbell is under fire for allegedly interrogating a Salem firefighter while that firefighter was recently in full uniform and purchasing food for the fire station at Market Basket, according to the Eagle-Tribune.

"SPAA cannot and will no longer accept nor turn a blind eye to Mr. Campbell’s actions or behavior," said Shawn Patten, the president of the Salem Public Administrators Association and Salem's deputy police chief, reportedly wrote in a letter to Town Manager Keith Hickey after the incident, according to the Eagle-Tribune. "It is my belief that formal action, collective or otherwise, on every single allegation, violation, unfair labor practice, etc., against Mr. Campbell and [the Board of Selectmen] will be forthcoming in the near future if he is allowed to continue his abhorrent behavior."
