Man Wanted in Attempted Child Abduction

Salem police said the man grabbed and ran away with a baby stroller containing an 8-month-old child, but the parent took control of the baby.

Salem police are searching for a man wanted in an attempted child abduction on the edge of the Windham Town Forest on April 24.

A caller alerted police that a man grabbed and ran away with a baby stroller containing an 8-month-old child, but the parent was able to take control of the baby as the man ran away on a path into Windham, according to Salem police.

The attempted abduction occurred in the woods near Zachary's Crossing and Route 111.

The man is described as a white man in his 20s, wearing a black sweater with hood, tan cargo pants, with black hair, between 5’ 9” and 5’ 10”.

A search of the area did not locate the man. Salem police ask that anyone with information regarding the case call the department at (603) 893-1911.
