Thursday night Salem came out with a holiday spirit in the air and watched as the town Christmas Tree was lit at Veterans Park.
Guest speakers included Salem Sen. Chuck Morse and former Barron and Fisk School Principal Richard O'Shaughnessy.
Carols were sung, as always, by the Haigh School Grade 3 class, with families in the crowd joining.
