Fisk School Bus Rear-Ended Near the Mall

The incident took place in the last half hour.

The school bus involved in an accident in Salem this afternoon was carrying Fisk Elementary School students, according to Superintendent Michael Delahanty. According to Delahanty, Bus 308 was on South Policy heading toward Fisk School when it stopped to discharge students. At that time, a truck rear-ended the bus. Initial reports indicated that the accident took place near the Woodland Terrace intersection. Bus routes were running earlier than usual because it was a half-day for students. Delahanty described the police and fire response as "very swift," with the 22 students remaining on the bus being checked quickly. He said the bus had dropped off some students in its route before it was rear-ended. Delahanty said that two students had …

Man Indicted for Exposing Himself to Child in Salem Walmart

The alleged incident took place in 2011.

A Haverhill, Mass. man charged in April on an indecent exposure cold case out Salem was indicted this month in Rockingham Superior Court. Ronald Beausoleil, 34, is being charged with indecent exposure and lewdness for his role in an alleged incident that took place in the Salem Walmart on Sept. 19, 2011. Beausoleil was arrested in Plaistow on March 11 for sexually assaulting a child. Salem Police Department Sgt. Thomas Kench and Detective Michael White later reviewed the security camera of the arrest. At that time, Kench thought a photo of Beausoleil from the security camera resembled the unidentified suspect from the Salem incident. Cop Indicted for Assaulting Teen in Salem

Carlos Gonzalez allegedly committed the crime in the early 1990's.

A Lawrence police officer has been indicted for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Salem in 1992 and 1993, according to the Eagle Tribune. Carlos Gonzalez, 48, is currently being held in a Florida jail on a $165,000 bond on another charge that he sexually assaulted a girl while vacationing there last summer. Salem Police reopened the case after Gonzalez was charged in Florida in February.

Tractor Trailer Accident with Multiple Vehicles Reported on I-93

The incident took place in the last half hour.

A multi-car accident involving a tractor trailer has reportedly taken place on Interstate 93, according to a news alert. The crash, which reportedly happened in the last hour on the southbound side of the highway, took place near the Windham/Salem border prior to Exit 2. The right lane has been closed to traffic at this time, and motorists are being asked to keep left and drive safely Salem NH Patch will have more on this story as it develops.

Homeless Woman Arrested for Crack Cocaine Sales

The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office made 17 arrests between May 28 and June 7.

The following individuals were recently arrested by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department. The information does not indicate a conviction.

Woman Arrested for Prostitution had Hundreds of Clients

According to the Eagle Tribune, police officers, firefighters and a city councilor were all clients.

A Salem woman known to her workers as "Nina" allegedly had those employees service hundreds of clients at a day spa suspected of prostitution in Lawrence, Mass., according to the Eagle Tribune. The report says that Lori Barron, 50, had her workers service everyone from police and fire officials to a city councilor. She also employed girls as young as 17 at her spa, called "Day Spa for Gentlemen." Further, a Methuen attorney – Thomas Torrisi – who publicly defended Barron when she was arrested in May 2011 for running a similar spa in Salem, was named in court papers as one of her clients. He denied the allegation in the Eagle Tribune report.

Citizen Police Academy Returns to Salem this Fall

Those interested in learning about law enforcement are invited to fill out an application packet now.

Salem's fourth annual Citizen Police Academy will return to town this fall, running from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19. According to police, the academy is made possible due to a generous donation from the Salem Exchange Club. The classes are open to residents over the age of 18 as well as any Salem business owners. They are held on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with one Saturday class. For those interested in learning about law enforcement and getting an inside loo at the Salem Police Department, contact Lieutenant Joe Dolan at 603-893-1911 or jdolan@salempd.com for more information and an application packet. Applications must be submitted no later than July 19 due to high demand and limited space. Applications will also be available here.

A Lawrence, Mass. man was pronounced dead at the scene after rolling his Ford F-150 over on Monday.

Driver Killed in I-93 Crash was Speeding, Lost Control of Vehicle

Police are still not releasing the name of the man who was killed last night.

UPDATE (JUNE 11, 8:00 p.m.): New Hampshire State Police have identified the driver who was killed in Monday's accident on Interstate 93 southbound. According to the state's Medical Examiners Office, the driver was Cornelius V. Stanley, 34, of Lawrence, Mass. Police also identified the driver of the second vehicle, a 2009 Infinity, that Stanely struck before he was killed. The driver was identified as Bryan Schnepf of Oxford, CT. He was uninjured in the incident and his vehicle suffered only minor damage. The initial investigation has determined that speed and lane control are contributing factors to the cause of the collision. I don't know who you are but in this case you are entirely wrong. The driver who was killed was entirely to blame. The fact that no-one else was killed is a miracle.
