Rockingham Community Action provides a number of assistance and social service programs to the community of Salem. Some of the programs provided include Head Start, fuel assistance, food pantry, literacy and job finding training. Rockingham Community Action also helps senior citizens find housing. These programs have been in place in Rockingham County for more than 40 years and in Salem since 2003.
