In 2008, Hale and Erica Cole-Tucker opened Maddie's Bagel & Eatery. Overated, always have to wait, they never clean the carpet. Food is mediocre at best.
Maddie's should be in a category by itself as best breakfast in Salem. The Irish Eggs are my favorite but everything on the menu is fantastic. For me Maddie's breakfast is Worth the wait.
Whenever I roll thru Salem and stop here I get excellent service.
This has to be the best breakfast place around. We live on Cape Cod but travel to VT a few times a year and always make the stop at Maddie's for breakfast. It is not far off the highway and easy to find. The menu is innovative and the food fresh and delicious. There always seems to be a few new dishes on the menu. The service is always spot on. All of the waitstaff could not be nicer or more efficient. Give it a try...you will not be disappointed.
