SalemFest Leads Weekend Packed with Fun Activities

There are a lot of cool things to do this weekend in the Granite State.

Here’s a roundup of fun things to do this weekend in Southern New Hampshire:


1. SalemFest & Bedford Olde Towne Day: Two local communities are having community festivals this weekend.Salemfest will be held on Saturday and Sunday, featuring a craft fair, a 5K road race, a car show and more. Bedford Olde Towne Day is scheduled for Saturday, and also offers a variety of fun events for local residents.

2. NASCAR at Loudon: Love racing? Then this event is for you. More than 100,000 spectators and 37,700 vehicles are expected to converge on Loudon this weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race. The race starts Sunday at 2 p.m., but there are other events being held all weekend.

3. Hunting and Fishing Day Expo:
 In observance of National Hunting and Fishing Day, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will host a Sporting Expo at Fish and Game headquarters at 11 Hazen Drive in Concord on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. The expo is your chance to see the latest hunting and fishing-related products and services, from guns and decoys to scents, calls and fishing gear. Meet hunting and fishing experts and guides and start planning your next outdoor adventure. 4. Erica's Run: Erica's Run will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Merrimack. Erica's Run is held in memory of Merrimack resident Erica Pombrio, who died of cancer Sept. 19, 2009. The money raised from the race goes toward helping other families in Merrimack dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Registration is $25 and race-day registration is accepted. Register online or download a registration form on the Erica's Fight website to bring with you the morning of. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at Merrimack High School.

5. RENT at the Palace Theatre: The groundbreaking Tony and Pulitzer Prize Award winner "RENT" is now playing at Manchester's Palace Theatre. This weekend, there are shows on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
