Horn Causing Disunity In Republican Party

There has been a lot of controversy over last week’s Unity Letter sent out by NH GOP chairman Jennifer Horn.  To put it plainly, the letter should have never been sent.  The letter sent out during Primary Season has no place when so many of us are out there running for office and trying to distinguish ourselves from our opponents.  We are trying to show the voting public why one candidate is possibly better than the other.  This is a healthy exercise in debating the issues and showing the difference between candidates.

There is a real problem when Management of the GOP starts picking sides before the Primary Election whether it's stated or implied. Showing favoritism at this stage of the game helps no one and discourages people in participating. Maybe there wouldn't have been a Libertarian candidate for Senate if Republican leaders had been more willing to hear the voices of Libertarians and Tea Party advocates.  Our party cannot afford to alienate anyone who is remotely conservative.  Demanding candidates to sign such a letter before September 9th was wrong. Sending it September 10th would have been the right thing to do.
