Salem School Project Encounters Delays

The discovery of ledge has slowed Fisk School work, but officials are still hopeful that everything will be completed in time for the 2014-2015 school year.

Renovations at the Soule and Fisk elementary schools are moving forward, but not without some delays, according to The Eagle-Tribune.

The newspaper reports that the Soule renovations are ahead of schedule, while the Fisk work has been slowed somewhat due to the discovery of ledge. But everything else is on schedule, and school officials remain hopeful that the projects can be completed before school starts up in the fall of 2014.

The $17 million elementary school renovation project includes renovations to the Fisk and Soule elementary schools and smaller improvements to the Haigh School.

The group Strengthen Our Schools recently posted some photos of the Soule renovations on its Facebook page. Updates, including photos and video, are also available on the school district website.
