From a press release submitted to Salem Patch:

The Salem High School Air Force Junior ROTC held their annual Awards Ceremony earlier this month where the unit recognized cadets with both local and national awards in the area of academics, leadership, community involvement, and the unit’s performance in this year’s drill competition season.

The following cadets were recognized for the top cadet’s in their respective class:  Outstanding Cadets were:  Keith Palombo (freshman); Erinne Curtin (sophomore); Daniel Poucher (junior); Renee Walker (senior).

The Chief's Award, awarded to the top enlisted cadet for excellence in academics and leadership, went to Cadet Curtin, a Windham High School student.

The Outstanding Flight Award, the top team award, went to Alpha Flight co-commanded by Cadet's Sarah Taschereau and Connor Roche (a Pelham High School student).

The top national award sponsored by the Air Force Association, went to Cadet Jonathan Zywusko. Congratulations to all the award winners and to all cadets who are all winners.

A highlight of the evening is when the Corps of Cadets inducted Col. Grady, the AFJROTC Aerospace Science Instructor from Alvirne High School and Dr. Michael Delahanty, the Salem School District Superintendent, as Honorary Cadets.
