Salem High Graduation to be Inside Davis Gymnasium Tonight

Salem's Class of 2014 will receive their diplomas in the school's Davis Gymnasium Friday night. Commencement is at 6 p.m.

This just in from the Salem School District, given Friday's weather:

Michael Delahanty, Salem Superintendent of Schools, and Tracy Collyer, Principal of
Salem High School, have announced that tonight’s graduation ceremony for the Class of 2014 will be held inside the school’s Davis Gymnasium beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Each graduating senior will receive two guest tickets for seats in the gym and two for seats in the auditorium.

The district’s media department will broadcast the ceremony live from the Davis Gym and on cable channel CTV 6. The ceremony will be broadcast live for guests in the school auditorium. It will also be simulcast on Livestream for those who want to view the ceremony online.

We’re all disappointed that we can’t be outside on Grant Field, but the weather will not clear in a timely enough fashion tomorrow morning.

Graduation was originally planned for Student Memorial Field.
