Selectmen Calling for Trustee, Rec. Advisory Candidates

The Salem Board of Selectmen has issued a call for candidates to fill vacancies on two different town boards: Trustees of the Trust Funds and the Recreation Advisory Committee.

The seat for the Trustees of the Trust Funds has a term ending March 10, 2015. According to the town, the trustees are "charged with administering various non-expendable trust funds and capital reserve funds" and they meet at the call of the chairman.

Trustees are elected annual in March and the Board of Selectmen are empowered to fill the vacancy for the rest of the term. 

Anyone interested in filling the vacancy must be a registered voter in Salem and should submit a letter of interest by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 to: Board of Selectmen, Attn: Trustee of the Trust Funds vacancy, Town of Salem, 33 Geremonty Drive, Salem, N.H., 03079.

Tentatively, selectmen are scheduled to conduct interviews for the vacancy beginning Monday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and applicants will receive notification of their interview date.

For the Recreation Advisory Committee, selectmen are looking to fill four seats, three with terms ending in November 2015 and one ending in November 2013.

Interested residents wishing to serve on this committee may submit an application to the Town Manager's office before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
