Salem Mosquito Spraying Prep for Fourth of July

Mosquito spraying is being conducted on the grounds of Salem High School, the Middle School and Field of Dreams in preparation for the Fourth of July.

The spraying began June 30 and July 1, and it will continue July 2 and July 3.

Dragon Mosquito crews are using back-pack sprayers to disperse permethrin and bifenthrin, and a truck sprayer to disperse Zenivex (entofenprox) or Duet (sumithrin & prallethrin), according to the town notice.

The spraying is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on those dates, and it is recommended that people stay off those grounds in question from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next day.
