Kuster Visiting Israel, West Bank

The week-long congressional delegation trip includes meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster is on a congressional delegation trip to Israel and the West Bank this week, her office announced Aug. 5.

Kuster, a Democrat representing New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District, will join 36 other House Democrats on the week-long trip. 

The trip's mission is to learn more about issues facing the region, including the U.S.-Israel relationship. It will feature meetings with Israeli and Palestinian government officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The trip is organized by the American Israel Education Foundation, an independent, nonprofit charitable organization.

In announcing the trip, Kuster said:

"I am honored to join my colleagues in meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders on the eve of the historic peace talks orchestrated by Secretary of State John Kerry. As a delegation, we intend to support both parties in a resolution of the conflict that will ensure peace in the region for generations to come."
