VIDEO: Questions Answered at NH Casino Now Forum

About 130 people turned out to the Elks for the discussion.

Local expanded gambling advocacy group NH Casino Now hosted a forum Thursday night at the Salem/Derry Elks Lodge where locals were able to ask questions about what a possible casino could mean for Salem.

Salem businessman Larry Belair moderated the forum which was attended by about 130 people, including numerous local candidates for office and elected, community and business leaders.

Two members of the panel came to Salem from Pennsylvania, the Meadows Casino General Manager Sean Sullivan and Washington County, Pa. Chamber of Commmerce President Jeff Kotula.

Also on the panel were Salem Police Chief Paul Donovan and Scott Spradling, president of the Spradling Group and a consultant to Millennium Gaming, the company that owns the Meadows and holds an option to turn Salem's Rockingham Park into a casino should expanded gambling legislation pass.

Watch the video above for some of what was discussed Thursday.

A well attended forum. Police Chief states crime is no different than what we have at the Mall. Casino employees are trained in spotting cumpulsive players. The casino will bring 2,000 full and part time jobs. Average wages 42,000 plus benifits. I know Marilinda Garcia was there. I saw her but she left a short time later. It was a two hour presentation. To long of a time for her. Bianca Garcia was a no show. The Garcia sisters are not interested in Rockingham Park. If you want gaming at Rockingham Park vote for State Reps that support the wishes of Salem Residents. The Garcia girls do not support Rockingham Park. Remember the last time there was a vote on expanding gaming Garcia got up and left the chamber she refused to vote on Gaming.

Susan, Patch forgot to have someone proof read your advertisement. It's spelled conscience, not conscious. Fortunately, you don't have to be a good speller to be a good state rep. I wouldn't pay for the ad if I were you. May the best reps win on the 6th. Bob
