Teen Charged After Prius Hits Pole, Splits in Two

Police said one southbound lane of traffic on Route 28 near Main Street is expected to be closed for several hours while Liberty Utilities replaces the pole.

The driver of a 2008 Toyota Prius faces charges after crashing into a telephone pole, with her car splitting in two, on Route 28 near Main Street on Monday night.

Police said the driver was not injured in the accident at 4:43 p.m. May 26.

Minta Notini, 18, of Pelham, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless operation, according to the Salem Police Department.

She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
