Salem Police Assist Arrest by U.S. Marshals

Real Bureau of Keene was facing an outstanding warrant for parole violations.

Salem Police assisted in the investigation and arrest of a New Hampshire parole fugitive in Lowell, Mass., Tuesday night.

According to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Massachusetts, Real Bureau, 30, of a last known address of Keene, had been wanted by the N.H. Department of Corrections Parole Board on an outstanding warrant since August.

Authorities said Bureau was attempted to elude Task Force members in a vehicle.

The parole violations against Bureau stemmed from a conviction and sentence for distribution of controlled narcotics in 2005 in Manchester. U.S. Marshals were asked to assist in locating and arresting Bureau.

"Early on in this investigation all leads were pointing towards the Lowell, Massachusetts area," the task force said in a statement. "Once this investigation was greatly expanding into Massachusetts, the N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force requested the assistance of our counterparts with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Massachusetts."

Bureau was seen by Fugitive Task Force members driving around the Lowell/Chelmsford, Mass., area.

"Prior to being able to stop the vehicle that Bureau was driving, he fled at a high rate of speed after seeing surveillance teams closing in," the statement contuned. "Bureau’s attempt to evade capture was brief, as he was located a short time later in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Wood Street in Lowell, Mass. Bureau was quickly arrested without any further incidents on the outstanding arrest warrant out of N.H."

Salem Police assisted in the investigation and arrest as well as members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force out of Massachusetts, including members from the U.S. Marshals, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office and the Lowell Police Department.

"After Bureau’s arrest, he was turned over to the Lowell Police Department for processing and holding pending his initial court appearance as a Fugitive from Justice on his outstanding N.H. warrant," according to the statement.
