Salem Motorcyclist Killed in Late Night Accident
Crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.
A Salem man was killed and his passenger was transported to Boston after a Saturday night motorcycle crash in Atkinson.
Preliminary findings, according to a release from New Hampshire State Police, reveal that at roughly 10:15 p.m. a 2013 Harley Davidson FLHTK motorcycle, driven by 51-year-old John Shivelhood, of Salem, was traveling north on Main Street in Atkinson when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway and crashed.
Shivelhood was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger, fellow Salem-resident Donna McMahon-Marcotte, 57, was transported to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries.

Sections of Main Street, between Maple Avenue and Sawyer Avenue, were closed for approximately five hours as troopers conducted an investigation.
Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene was the New Hampshire State Police TAR Unit, the Atkinson Police Department and the Atkinson Fire Department.
