Salem Man Charged in Felony DWI Crash

State Police: Occupant of a car crashed into on I-93 was ejected.

New Hampshire State Police arrested a Salem man on a felony-level driving while intoxicated in connection with a crash on Interstate 93 in Manchester on April 20.

Gregory Dawson, 27, of Salem, allegedly passed two state troopers at a high rate of speed and, while they gave pursuit, he crashed into another vehicle traveling south at about 2 a.m., according to police.

The passenger of the other vehicle was ejected during the impact and was taken to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester. Dawson and the driver of the "no-fault vehicle" were also taken to the Elliot for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Trooper Mark Dore, Trooper Andrew Monaco and a good Samaritan on the scene administered first aid until the arrival of Manchester Fire and Rescue personnel.

Police said speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
