Police Receive Report of Man Shooting at Geese

The following arrest information was supplied by the Salem Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 19

  • 8:42 a.m.: Police received a report of an accident with no injury on North Broadway.
  • 9:28 a.m.: Police reported a water main break on Pelham Road.
  • 12:11 p.m.: Police received a report of an accident on South Broadway.
  • 1:38 p.m.: Arline Murray, 67, of 6 Hickory Lane, Salem was arrested and charged with simple assault; John R. Guimond, 32, of 6 Hickory Lane, Salem was arrested on a bench warrant. The charge was not specified. Guimond's bail was set at $985, and Murray's at $1,500 personal recognizance.
  • 2 p.m.: A caller reported that two young males inside a vehicle on South Broadway were drinking and left after throwing out empty nip bottles.
  • 2:37 p.m.: Police received a report of an accident on South Broadway.
  • 4:34 p.m.: A caller reported that her brother saw a male subject outside shooting off a weapon on Warren Avenue to get ride of the geese in the area. An officer checked the area and spoke with some residents, but found no sign of the man.
  • 5:30 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Rockingham Park Boulevard.
  • 7:09 p.m.: Christopher Mark Janco, 22, of 143 Old Derry Drive, Methuen, MA was arrested on a warrant and charged with theft by unauthorized taking and fraudulent use of a credit card. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail.
