Emergency crews are at the scene of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 93 south in Salem.
The accident was reported around 2:15 p.m. in the area of mile marker 0.4, according to emergency radio broadcasts. The accident involves three vehicles, one of which is overturned. One subject was reportedly trapped in their vehicle, but has been since removed using the Jaws of Life and is being prepared for transport to the hospital.
The highway has reportedly been shutdown in the area of Exit 1 due to the accident.
