Mass. Man Arrested Twice Over Weekend

Drugs were allegedly found on Sean Irish during both arrests.

A Salem, Mass., man faces a number of charges, including two for drugs, after Salem Police arrested him on two different occasions over the weekend.

Sean Irish, 35, of a last known address of Salem, Mass., was picked up by police first at the Mall at Rockingham Park Friday and later at LaQuinta Hotel Saturday.

On Friday, police responded to the mall at about 8:19 p.m. for a report of a disoriented subject walking around a parking lot looking into vehicles.

Police said they found the male, Irish, and while speaking to him called Salem Fire "due to his condition."

A small amount of prescription drugs were found on Irish and "evidence that he had possibly taken more than 80 pills in a short period of time," according to police.

After being advised he was under arrest, Irish "engaged the officers in a brief struggle" and was later taken into custody.

Police said he was "verbally abusive" throughout his arrest and was eventually released on $1,000 cash bail.

On Saturday, police said they were called to LaQuinta Hotel for a report of an "unwanted male subject refusing to pay or leave the premises."

Officers determined the subject was Irish.

He was taken into custody and police were able to find a small amount of marijuana on his person. Police said he was released on $500 cash bail.

In all, Irish was charged with a felony drug possession charge and then misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal trespassing.
