Attempted Homicide in Salem; Suspect Vehicle Found in Derry

Police are at a Cluff Crossing Road home a 18-year-old man stabbed and beat his mother during an attempted homicide.

UPDATE, 11:09 a.m.: Police cruisers have returned to 103 Cluff Crossing Road, presumably in connection to the Thomas George attempted homicide investigation.

The incident allegedly occurred Thursday morning on Cluff Crossing Road, and a Thomas George is listed on WhitePages.com as living at 103 Cluff Crossing Road, Apt. Q1.

UPDATE, 9:45 a.m.:
 Salem High School is no longer in lockdown, according to Salem Police. Students and staff are under a "shelter in place" order, but otherwise it is business as usual. Several officers remain assigned at the school.
 
Salem Police also said the suspect vehicle has been located in Derry, abandoned. Police are still searching for the suspect.

The Eagle-Tribune reports that the vehicle was found, still running, on Kendall Pond Road around 9:30 a.m.

The Salem Police Department has issued a BOLO for a green Kia Sephia after its white male driver was involved in an attempted homicide earlier in the morning.

Police said the driver should be considered "dangerous" and "possibly armed" with a knife or a hammer. The Sephia has the New Hampshire registration 317-1993. Another possible registration on the suspect vehicle could be 341-1012.

According to WMUR, the suspect, 18-year-old Thomas George, allegedly attempted to kill his own mother. The incident occurred on Cluff Crossing Road, according to emergency radio broadcasts. George reportedly stabbed and beat his mother, who is being transported to a Boston hospital by medical helicopter.

Salem High School was placed into "precautionary" lockdown Thursday morning, according to police, because the suspect has ties to the school. Police said SHS is unrelated to the crime, though. Derry schools were also in put in lockdown as a precaution.
