Assistant Rockingham County Attorney Arrested on Drug Charge

NH AG: Investigation is ongoing.

An assistant county attorney for Rockingham County was arrested yesterday on a drug charge, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

Zachary Cross, 29, was arrested by the New Hampshire Drug Task Force and was charged with one count of possession of a control drug. The drug was Oxycondone, according to a press statement.

Cross was issued $2,500 cash bail and is due in Ninth Circuit District Division Court in Manchester on July 14.

Details about the case are minimal at post time with Jane Young, the associate attorney general, stating in an email that, “The investigation in this case is ongoing.” Phone calls and emails were not returned to Patch before post time. 

The announcement from the NH AG’s Office comes less than a day after embattled County Attorney Jim Reams announced his retirement
