Funeral Tuesday for Salem High Freshman

A candlelight vigil was held Saturday night at the Icecenter in Sal Azzarito's memory.

Salvatore “Sal” Dominic Azzarito, 15, of Salem, NH passed away February 4, 2014, with his parents by his side at Massachusetts General Hospital. Sal was the son of Mark and Lisa (Mangeri) Azzarito, and was a freshman at Salem High School. 

Sal had a great love for playing hockey and cheering on his favorite teams, the Bruins and the Capitals. He enjoyed snowmobiling with his best friend, his Dad, and learning to use just about any tool he could get his hands on. In Sal's very short life he made a great impact on all those he came in contact with. Sal leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion and he will always be remembered as a true gentleman, wise beyond his years. 

Besides his parents Sal is survived by his brother Michael G. Lepore of Stamford, CT his sisters Natalie E. Azzarito and Sofia C. Azzarito of Salem, NH, his Maternal grandparents Louis & Elizabeth Mangeri of Salem, NH, Paternal grandmother Geraldine Azzarito of Atkinson, NH and his Maternal great grandmother, “little nana”, Anne Ichton of Salem, NH, along with his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sal was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Dominic Azzarito. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Monday February 10th from 4 to 8 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday February 11th at 10:30am at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
