Squirts, Bantams Lead The Way For NH Saints Hockey

The New Hampshire Saints Youth Hockey program's Squirt and Bantam teams posted a number of strong performances to lead the way through a very busy weekend.

Squirts

On Saturday, the Squirt team fought well but came up a bit short in a 4-1 loss to Andover at the Breakaway Rinks in Tewksbury. On Sunday, however, the Squirt team picked up its first victory of the season in a 9-3 win over Burlington at Methuen High School. Kyle Whitley scored the first team goal on Saturday and had a hat trick on Sunday. Macklin Hudon also had a hat trick in Sunday's victory as well as an assist. Sydney Nutter, Dylan Nutter and Robert Mondello all contributed goals and Tyler Brissenden added an assist. Finally, a big congratulations to Cam Grant in goal on some great performances!

Bantam 1

The Bantam 1 team tied Casco Bay 3-3 Saturday afternoon in Tewksbury.  The Saints Jim Harootian scored one goal in each of the three periods to register the hat rick.  Assists came from Patrick Hare (2) and Mason Healey (2).  Goaltender Aleksei Lavrentyev made some phenomenal glove saves and a skate kick save for the highlight reels. 

Sunday evening, the Bantam 1 team defeated Reading at Methuen High School.  The Saints took the lead in the first period with a goal from Mason Healey assisted by Patrick HareMatt Diprizio followed up with an unassisted goal with 1:45 remaining in the first to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.  However Reading got on the board to make it 2-1 with just 0.6 seconds left in the first period.  The Saints poured it on in the third, scoring two more goals (Jared Tuccolo UA and Patrick Hare assisted by Brandon Paiva).

Bantam 2

On Saturday evening, the Bantam 2 team posted a 4-3 victory over Newton at the Breakaway Rinks in Tewksbury. Vincent Annicchiarico led all scorers with two goals, while Michael Vincente and Jared Taranto each added an additional goal.

On Sunday evening, the team played to a 4-4 tie with Newburyport at the Haverhill Valley Forum.  Vincent Annicchiarico once again led scoring with another two-goal night.
