Marilinda Garcia Statement on Health Care Premium Increases

SALEM, NH (04/07/14) – Marilinda Garcia, Republican candidate for New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District, released the following statement in response to a new industry survey indicating that New Hampshire’s individual health care premiums have risen by 90% due to Obamacare.

“That Obamacare is causing the sharpest ever increase in health care premiums is further evidence that New Hampshire needs a new generation of leadership that will dismantle this disastrous law. Along with unprecedented 90% increases in premiums, many New Hampshire families have had their policies canceled, and an unrivaled 10 New Hampshire hospitals are now deemed ‘out of network’ for insurance. 

However, career politicians like Representative Ann Kuster are out of touch with the people of New Hampshire, and continue to support this failed piece of legislation despite the incredible hardships it has placed on struggling New Hampshire families. 

In order to lift the heavy burden that is being placed upon New Hampshire, we need real leadership that supports common-sense solutions that make health care affordable for all families. We need to dismantle Obamacare and remove the harmful mechanisms that are victimizing New Hampshire citizens. We must enact bottom-up alternatives that promote health care innovation, reform, tax fairness, insurance portability, end lawsuit abuse, and help individuals regain control over their health care decisions,” said Garcia.
