Town to Hold Vigil for School Shooting Victims

Salem will pay tribute to the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary shooting next week as part of a solemn remembrance in honor of the one-year anniversary of the tragic event.

The Salem School District announced Tuesday that a non-denominational candlelight vigil will be held for the victims of the Newtown, Conn., school at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. David's Episcopal Church, located at 231 Main St. in Salem.

The Sandy Hook shooting was the second deadliest mass shooting by a single person in the United States history, claiming the lives of 26 teachers and students on Dec. 14, 2012.
