A local family dealing with some serious medical concerns is seeking help with his medical bills and buying Christmas gifts for his family.

Crystal Emery Mellen is asking for donations to help her cousin Leslie and Leslie's fiance David, who is suffering from numerous complications due to pneumonia, according to the GoFundMe.com page. Patch has partnered with GoFundMe and is helping to highlight worthy campaigns in local communities.

In under a month, 22 people have already donated $625. The goal is $700.

From the page:

My cousin Leslie and her Fiance David are going through a very tough time. A couple weeks ago David was rushed to the ER because he couldn't breathe due to pneumonia. They found that he has a lesion on his spine and that it was bleeding, which cause him to lose feeling and function in his legs. They moved him to Beth Israel in Boston, where they found he had a blood clot in his lung and some damage to his heart. They are continually doing tests but they are unable to to stop the bleeding in his spine. David and Leslie have 3 young boys between them both and two full time jobs. David isn't out of the hospital yet and nobody knows when he will be released. Leslie is trying to be with David as much as she can but between the children, her job, and the cost of driving and parking in Boston it is taking a huge toll financially on them. Any help would be graciously appreciated. This is a young family that has come across very hard times and needs help. Please. Christmas is coming up and it would be nice to help Leslie with some gifts for the boys ages 7, 10, and 16.
