Good morning, Salem! Here are five things you need to know today:

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Hot temperatures continue with highs near 90. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 60.

2. ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES AT KELLEY LIBRARY: Welcome to Mexico! This week children in grades one through five will hear a Mexican tale, make a Mexican craft and learn a Mexican dance. Registration is required. Stop by the E.V. Reed Children's Room to sign up. The event runs from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m today.

3. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On July 19, 1799, the Rosetta Stone was discovered during Napoleon Bonaparte's Egyptian campaign. A French soldier discovered a black basalt slab inscribed with ancient writing near the town of Rosetta, about 35 miles north of Alexandria. The irregularly shaped stone contained fragments of passages written in three different scripts: Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics and Egyptian demotic.

4. ROEMER IN WINDHAM: Former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, who is weighing a presidential run is at the Windham Senior Center tonight at 7 p.m. Salem Patch will have coverage.
