Good morning, Salem! Here are five things you need to know today, Thursday, Dec. 13:

1. BUDCOM FINAL SCHOOL VOTES: The Salem Budget Committee is holding their final votes and a public hearing on the 2013-2014 Salem School District budget starting tonight at 7 in the Knightly Meeting Room of Town Hall.

2. YES, IT'S TRUE: You may have already heard, but I, Jake O'Donnell, will be leaving as Salem Patch editor effective the end of the year. I'll have plenty more to say as we get closer to the time for me to depart, but I want to thank everyone for their support since I came on board in May of 2011.
