Salem Co-operative Bank Funds $25,000 for Transportation Services for Town's Youth

Salem, NH: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, NH has received $25,000 in funding from Salem Community Benefit, the wholly owned charitable corporation of Salem Co-operative Bank,  to support transportation services.  “As our program has expanded and attendance has grown in the past year we identified transportation as a barrier preventing kids from coming to the Club,” says the Club’s Executive Director Michael Centor. “Although they could get here from the middle and high school, many have no way home.  We have been fortunate to have the generous support of Salem Co-operative Bank for many years; this support truly targets a need that will impact the youth that need us most.”  Ann Lally, President of Salem Co-operative Bank, says “I am happy that the Bank is able to assist families needing the evening transportation program.  I hope this will help more children get access to club services.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem is part of a nationwide Movement of community-based, autonomous organizations and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) works to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. It offers daily access to a broad range of programs in five core program areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation, as well as other specialized initiatives. All programs are designed to drive positive outcomes for youth and reinforce necessary life skills.
