Salem Apple Store Moves; Old Location Wasn't Large Enough

The new store is more than double the size of the old spot, which recently had problems during the new iPhone release.

Salem's Apple Store will host a grand re-opening Saturday as the business celebrates moving to a new home to better accommodate its heavy foot traffic, some of which caused problems recently.

Tuaw.com has reported that the store has moved one storefront down from its old, 5,888-square-foot spot in the Mall at Rockingham Park. The new, 13,500-square-foot Apple Store is located in the former H&M store, and it will open for business at 10 a.m. Saturday, according to Tuaw.com.

The store often typically has long lines and unruly crowds during new product releases and busy shopping days. In September, one man was beaten unconscious, two others were arrested, and various thefts, disputes and trespassing issues took place before the iPhone 5s and 5c release.
