Local Businesses Win BBB Torch Awards

An independent panel of judges have announced the nine finalists for the BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. The Torch Award judges were tasked with reviewing numerous applications and supporting materials to determine nine applicants that stood out among the rest. Three of the nine finalists will receive a Torch Award at the luncheon ceremony on June 12.

“The purpose of the Torch Awards is to annually to recognize New Hampshire businesses and their commitment to maintaining exceptionally high standards of ethical behavior in buyer/seller relationships,” stated Robert Shomphe, President/CEO of BBB Serving New Hampshire. 

Three businesses in each of the small, medium and large size categories were selected as finalists. The finalists in the small category are: 

• SNH Speech Therapy & Learning Center, LLC, Nashua 
• Russell Auto Inc., Manchester 
• FBI Contracting LLC, Concord

Medium category finalists are:

• MSI Mechanical Systems, Salem
• Elm Grove Companies, Manchester
• Bedford Martial Arts Academy, Bedford

Lastly, the large finalists are: 

• Carlisle Wide Plank Floors, Stoddard
• Crown Point Cabinetry, Claremont
• Polaris Direct, Hooksett

In addition, the five recipients of BBB’s Student Ethics Scholarship Program will be honored at the 2014 Torch Awards luncheon. Each recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship from BBB to be used to further his or her education. BBB | NH has awarded over $40,000 to New Hampshire students who have demonstrated outstanding prowess in academics, leadership, community service, and personal integrity.

BBB is still accepting reservations to attend the 2014 Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. This event will take place at noon on June 12 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Manchester.
