Missing Salem Teen Found

She ran away from home on Thursday night.

UPDATE, 7:20 p.m.: The 16-year-old Salem girl who went missing on Thursday has been found, according to Salem Police.

"Missing 16 yr old runaway found. She is safe and back home. The investigation remains active," the Salem Police Department said on its Twitter account on Friday night.

Salem Police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who ran away from home on Thursday night.

Police took a report of a runaway at 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The girl, Juliette Benetiz, 16, reportedly left her home on Rena Avenue in Salem on foot at 6 p.m. Thursday. 

She did not return home overnight and made veiled threats to harm herself. Her cell phone has not been used since Thursday. Salem detectives are investigating, and at this point foul play is not suspected.

Benetiz is described as 5'8", 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has multiple piercings and an industrial bar on her right ear.
