Celebrate The Birth of 2013 With Fun NH Events

1. Nature! Check out the nature photography exhibit at Concord's Conservation Center beginning today. This exhibit features pictures Rochester photographer Kris Ebbeson has taken while hiking all over New Hampshire, from local town forests to the White Mountain National Forest and the highest destinations in the Presidential Range. The exhibit runs from Jan. 2 to Feb. 27 excluding weekends.

2. On the hunt! Fight Cabin Fever at the annual Rockingham Fishing and Hunting Expo set for Saturday & Sunday, January 5-6 at Rockingham Park in Salem. See the entire outdoors from indoors with a growing count nearing 200 exhibitors and over 50 free seminars to attend. The weekend event is scheduled for January 5th and 6th, 2013. This event is the current largest and longest continually Operating Sporting Expo in NH. Tickets are $8 at the door.

3. Be our guest! Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is playing at the Capitol Center for the Arts tonight at 7 p.m. This is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. The smash hit Broadway musical is based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film. This eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide.

4. Crushing cars! Monster Jam is on its way to crush the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on Friday starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature Maximum Destruction and Captain’s Curse, making their debut appearances in Manchester, in addition to the Thrasher, Crushstation, Black Stallion, Iron Warrior and more. Tickets at the door are $20 adults and $10 for children 2-12.

5. Guitar solo! Charlie Farren will be playing at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry on Saturday beginning at 8 p.m. He has long been known for great songs, great singing, and for outstanding live solo acoustic performances. Alone onstage with acoustic guitar in hand, Charlie captures an audience with his unique delivery, insightful lyrics, memorable songs, soaring vocal, and subtle yet innovative guitar style. It wasn't always quite so subtle, as Charlie formed this original self-taught style with a history of successful, hard-crunching rock bands through the 80s... including The Joe Perry Project and Farrenheit.
