Salem Pays Tribute to Slain School Children, Teachers Today

Salem will host a solemn remembrance Thursday in honor of the victims of the shooting that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., one year ago this week.

The Salem School District has announced that a non-denominational candlelight vigil will be held for the victims at 6:30 p.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church, located at 231 Main St. in Salem.

All are welcome.

The Sandy Hook shooting was the second deadliest mass shooting by a single person in the United States history, claiming the lives of 26 teachers and students on Dec. 14, 2012.
