Award-Winning Salem Humorist Releases New Book

Rodney Lacroix's described writing and publishing his second book as a "truly humbling experience."

While local author Rodney Lacroix's newest book explores a simple-yet-simultaneously complex issue — lies — the humorist says the work itself is far from a lie.

Tuesday is the official Amazon release of "Perhaps I've Said Too Much." The book is a follow-up to Lacroix's popular first book, "Things Go Wrong for Me," which grew out of his long-running humor blog, "Mental Poo," at midgetmanofsteel.com.

"It's basically a how-not-to-go-through-life when you can't stop spinning tall tales," said Lacroix. "The format of the book is similar to 'Things' in that it's full-color, has lots of drawings to punctuate my writing style, and is definitely not Tolstoy.

"There is no fiction in this book and - in fact - you could almost consider it a memoir, but not in the 'Colin Powell' memoir sense. I would categorize it more as a collection of short stories that made me cry a lot while I was writing them because I can't catch a break and reliving crap like this is tough."

Lacroix, who won Indie Publishing awards for humor/comedy for "Things," has already received strong praise for his new book, which is mostly new writing.

"It's a true gift when a writer puts something on paper and makes you laugh out loud," said Fox News Boston TV Anchor Gene Lavanchy in an editorial review.

"Perhaps I've Said Too Much" is available on Amazon here, and is also available in a full color Kindle version. The book is also available on the publisher's site at RCGPublishing.com, and Lacroix said readers can order signed copies through the publisher.

The book is also available on Barnes and Noble's website here.
