Stop the Name-Calling, Thank Those Who Are Trying

I'd like to say thank you to U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster for her continuing effort to advance public debate on the sequester issue, and for her determined summons to adult, thoughtful action on deficit reduction.

It can't be easy to be responsible in this environment.

And I notice she's getting no credit for her efforts from those who have yelled loudest for spending reduction.

At the moment I write this, she has been called an unpleasant name in the comment section to the news story on this issue, and Democrats who admire her effort, have been likened to something larger than mice (i.e. democRATS?).

Can we calm it down folks, please? Some of us, particularly Kuster, are trying to find solutions.

I'll avoid calling names: Ann McLane Kuster supports higher taxes, and she was caught being late or not paying taxes on multiple occasions. She only paid her property taxes after the public found out that she hadn't. Then, she told us that her family is struggling and that is why she couldn't afford to pay taxes on her luxury vacation home in the White Mountains. No name calling, no spin. Those are facts.

We can raise taxes with the next round of governmental spending cuts....hows that for responsible? Taxes and Cuts seems balanced to me........we had taxes last time and cuts now. Glad your on-board, cuts are the sensible adult thing to do.

Anybody that will raise taxes on me and lie about not paying her taxes has a problem. Name calling is the least of Kusters problems, all of which will adversely affect ALL of us in this state.

Kuster is an embarrassment, and those that voted for her should be ashamed of themselves! She needs to be tossed out on her can next cycle!

And you'll have that opportunity in 2014, but for now Annie Kuster is our elected Congressional Representative and you'll just need to put on your big boy pants and live with it.

I vote Democrat, and I'm embarrassed by Kuster. I work hard, pay my taxes, and generally support the idea that together we create a society for everybody, but she tried to slip one by us. And she did. Plus, she's rich, so I don't get it. Why didn't she pay? It's offensive that I have to work and struggle to pay my exorbitant property tax that doesn't match my income, and she gets to float on by.

I hope that we get a different Democrat next time.

Also no name-calling, just facts.

Get that disgraced lady out of a role that represents my interests and the interests of the people of this state. She soils what little reputation she had, before she was kicked out of office last go-around, by cheating every woman and man in this state by not paying her fair share.

She didn't even have the courage to immediately publicly apologize and admit she tried to game the system. Her M.O. of laying low (like she did with Obamacare) and hoping her voting record or behavioral problems go away. We all remember you being inaccessible to your constituents!!!!. And now look, Kuster vote directly results in adding roughly 6 trillion to the national debt.

Kuster, every dishonest move you make costs me money....!!!

the ONLY honorable thing left to do lady, is resign.

She didn't lay low. She spent four years running for Congress saying "I want to be in Congress to push forward the Obama agenda."

I'm going to call her a name; "Smart". They are not stupid people. Where else can yo borrow $6,973.00 for more than a year and only pay $82.00 in interest. you put that money to work making 10 to 15 times more than the interest it cost you. Not paying property taxes on time burdens the town, schools and county. Do you think they really care? That's how the rich get richer.

Right now, car companies nationwide are writing loans at 0.0% interest. Credit unions are offering rates on used car loans that aren't far above that tax interest rate.

In general, interest rates are at historically-low levels.

Yes, no name calling. We should all be nice and cordial to each other. Here is an example from Ann Kuster herself:
“You're harassing me. I'll call Charlie and I'll tell him when he can have the camera back. F#%( him.”

"F" not "F#%("

Is there so little that's true about why you hate her, that you have to make stuff up?

Oh, that's right. She said "F him". My mistake. I thought that the press had bleeped it out, but the video shows that she used an abbreviation.

Either way, she was over the top. Making contact with the cameraman and dropping the abbreviated F bomb. As bad as namecalling; arguably worse...

Thank you for the correction Seamus... It really does matter, and I do appreciate your response.

And I wasn't there to see the activity of the photographer, but I understand... and from the video... it seems he bumps into her several times and shoves the mic at her repeatedly. I don't know how you'd react, but I think she behaved better than many would.

I understand the parties often exaggerate acts like this to incite voters... But it's up to us to decline to participate in their games.

Not only is she an embarrassment for her hypocritical tax paying practice, she is a demogogue with respect to Sequestration. Although the cuts are far from best practice as to the interests of our country, the cuts aren't devastating to the country. And they are a mere drop in the bucket as to what future cuts need to be made.
No name calling, just get her the heck out of there and put anyone , Dem or Rep, that is actually willing to fix this country's spending problem!!!

I'm from the Tea Party. Every screwball democrat who called me a racist (and there's a lot of them) can go to H-E double hockey sticks. Typical, a dem screaming about name-calling. No shame at all. Where were you when your party chair called police chief racists for enforcing immigration laws?

I'll give you this though, Kuster's late Real Estate taxes is no big deal and towns eventually get their pound of flesh or take the house.

Ya right. Did anybody ever collect Breitbart's $100K reward for video or audio evidence of what you are asserting as true? And do you know its true or just repeating a screwball talking point? BTW calling the Tea Party racists happened long before then. On April 15, 2009, that pizza-faced witch Jeanine Garafalo call us Tea Partiers racists all while Keith Olbermann was saying "yep", "uh-huh" and "that's right". Since then there's a long list of Tea Party name-callers from Cokie Roberts to Marc Lamont-Hill. All liars. Your statement is based on a lie. You are RUDE.

Atlant: If you are ugly enough to label people you dont know showing up a Tea Perty rallies to protest the ever increacing government size and reach as racists, you are ugly enough to be called a PIZZA-FACED WITCH. As Annie would say "eff her...". One name call deserves another. And if I dont provide her the respect you judge is appropriate you label me a misogynist? I dont think anyone running around calling people racists for no reason deserve any respect.

I guess all of the congressmen who had epithets thrown at them were lying, Jack? Just because you can't see the white hoods within your little group doesn't mean they aren't there. By the way, they lost in November in no small part due to their racism.
