Two File for McDougall Vacancy on Opening Day
Several people have filed for candidacy on day one.
An early sweep of cadidacy filings on day one in Salem saw two residents file for the vacancy left on the Zoning Board of Adjustment by former member Patrick McDougall.
McDougall resigned from his positions on both the ZBA and Budget Committee after he was found guilty for obstructing government administration in December.
Seeking to fill the void are John Manning, who is currently serving as an alternate, and Arthur Nobrega.
Three other familiar names on the town side filed on Wednesday.
Selectman Pat Hargreaves will run for re-election with his term set to expire in March.
Linda Harvey and Ed DeClercq have filed for Planning Board.
The Salem School District will see Patricia Corbett run for another term on the School Board.
Also seeking to renew her service as district treasurer will be Linda Cornwell.

The planning board so needs some new blood. If things don't change we'll have another three years of badgering every applicant within 500 feet of the railbed for some "consideration" for the thousands of people who will be using the trail.
The good news is that neither McDougall or Giordano will be waiting until the eleventh hour to file for whatever is still unopposed!
