Teens Charged After Fighting with Lord & Taylor Security

The two 15-year-old females were charged with unarmed robbery after allegedly shoplifting merchandise from the store.

Two 15-year-old females were charged with unarmed robbery Wednesday after allegedly shoplifting merchandise from Lord & Taylor and then fighting with the store's loss prevention employees.

The teens, whose names were not released because they are juveniles, were from Manchester and Hooksett and were charged with stealing $518 and $597 worth of merchandise, respectively.

Police said they responded to Lord & Taylor at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday for a report of two female juveniles fighting with loss prevention employees. Upon arrival, loss prevention told police they saw the teens select various merchandise and attempt to exit the store without paying for it.

The loss prevention employees said they confronted the teens, and one began physically fighting with the employee, punching him several times. The other teen ran, but loss prevention was able to catch her in the parking lot attempting to get into a black car, which then fled the scene, leaving the two teens behind. The second teen also engaged in a physical fight with loss prevention.

Police arrived and were able to quickly take both teens into custody. They were transported to the Salem Police Department and later, by judge's order, were placed at the Youth Development Center in Manchester, pending arraignment.

When teens physically assault loss prevention officers, attempt to steal over $1100.00 worth of merchandise, and have to be hauled off to YDC on River Road in Manchester, they DESERVE to have their names published in the media. They've lost their "privileges" as adolescents when they pull that sort of stunt.
