Salem Man Sentenced For Marijuana Charge

Raymond Speight, Jr., was arrested for receiving 5 1/2 pounds of marijuana in the mail.

The Union Leader is reporting that a Salem man arrested in March after a drug seizure has been sentenced to 1 1/2-to-4 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

According to the paper, Raymond Speight, Jr., 23, was originally arrested for receiving 5 1/2 pounds of marijuana in the mail. At Rockingham County Superior Court, Judge N. William Delker told Speight he was "not dealing a little on the side to fuel a drug habit...You are the problem," according to the Union Leader.

I'm sorry but I disagree with you. Just think for a minute who he was probably selling that stuff to ? The mall is like a school playground, packed with kids. Glad to see him gone, but i'm sure someone will take his place. Nice job Salem PD

He was probably selling his wares to his friends and other people mostly over the age of 18.

The mall? What does the mall have to do with anything?
