Salem Board Members File For Re-Election in Droves

Over a dozen have signed up for the town and school ballots.

With the candidacy filing deadline just two days away, most of the residents who have signed up for the town and school ballots are those seeking re-election to various boards.

The lone candidate thus far for the Board of Selectmen is Chairman Pat Hargreaves, who filed shortly after the period opened.

Planning Board member Linda Harvey has also filed to try to keep her seat. Edward DeClercq, who filled a vacancy last April when Jim Keller was voted in as a selectman, will also seek a fresh three-year term.

Also searching for one of the Planning Board vacancies is Albert McDonald.

Zoning Board of Adjustment candidates include John J. Manning Jr., who is currently an alternate, and Arthur Nobrega. A vacancy was left on the board after former member Patrick McDougall resigned.

McDougall also left a one-year term vacancy on the Budget Committee, which Steven Plant and Ressell Frydryk will seek to fill.

Trustee of the Trust Funds Chairman Harley Featherston will also run for another term.

Three have also filed for Salem School Board, with Patricia Corbett and Peter A. Morgan seeking re-election. Along with his ZBA candidacy, Manning will also seek a term on the board.

Mark Pearson also also filed for another term as School District Moderator.

I put my money where my mouth is twice a year when I pay my real estate tax bill. With regards to that I do not get my moneys worth nor do the children of Salem.

All talk and no action. Just what we should expect from somebody who complains so much.

You too, Underwater Couple. If you think the candidates are pompous, there are two school board seats and two of you. Let's see your names on the ballot.

Both the ZBA and School Board meet on Tuesday nights. How is Manning going to manage that ? Isn't this a repeat of lwhat he did last year?

Like who once served alcohol to a minor that ended up crashing her car on Pleasant ST ? I'm all for it.

YUP, censoring. I don't remember seeing anything on here earlier that violated any "terms of use", just some truth that may have cut too close to home for some.
