A Windham woman faces numerous charges after she allegedly attempted to drive a vehicle intoxicated with three children and an open wine bottle.

Salem Police also said Gina Suliveras, 39, later threatened to kill a Salem Police officer and his family.

Police said they responded to Pelham Road Tuesday at about 7 p.m. for a report of an intoxicated female, Suliveras, trying to drive away from a business with three children in the vehicle.

A male witness told police that the female was "refusing to give up her car keys" and when he told another witness to call police, one of the children was able to get the keys and told the witnes not to make the call.

The child said he'd already called his aunt to come and get them, according to police.

Police located the vehicle upon arrival and were able to prevent it from leaving the lot. Police said the woman "was belligerent, fell getting out of the vehicle, and failed field sobriety testing."

One of the children handed an officer an opened bottle of pinot grigio wine and said, “I think this is why mommy is so sleepy," according to police.

Police took Suliveras into custody and the three children were released to a family member on scene.

Suliveras allegedly remained belligerent during the booking process, at one point telling an officer she was a nurse at Lawrence, Mass. General Hospital and that she would "remember his name, and that she hoped he got shot and died."

Police also said she told the officer "that if he or his wife or kids ever sought treatment at LGH she would kill him and them as well."

Suliveras was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, open container, criminal threatening and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

She was processed and later released on $500 personal recognizance pending arraignment. Police said the Division of Children, Youth and Families was also notified about the incident.
