Police Arrest 11 at Underage Drinking Party

Late Sunday night party broken up on Barron Avenue.

Salem Police arrested 11 individuals under the age of 21 Sunday night after breaking up an underage drinking party on Barron Avenue.

The following individuals were arrested for one charge each of unlawful possession of alcohol: Daniel Carignan, 19, of Salem; Megan Martineau, 19, of Salem; Stephanie Spurrell, 19, of Derry; Alan Frais, 20, of Salem; Jessica Copley, 19, of Salem; Kyle Blamy, 18, of Salem; Jake Anthony Vittorioso, 19, of Salem, Samantha Johnston, 17, of Salem; Sarah Dascoli, 17, of Salem; and a female juvenile. Shane Delandy, 20, of Salem, was charged with possession of controlled/narcotic drugs.

Police said at approximately 11:00 p.m. Sunday police responded to Barron Avenue after several complaints of "noise, people allegedly breaking bottles in the street and the strong odor of marijuana" coming from a Barron Avenue residence.

Upon arrival police saw numerous people running from the scene into the woods and neighborhood. A total of 11 people were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.

A number of people were released from the scene to parents or guardians and not arrested based upon no evidence of drinking nor drug use, police said.

The homeowners were home at the time and allegedly unaware of the party and police said at this time the homeowners are not facing
charges. All persons arrested were released on summonses to appear in Salem District Court.
