Patch Answers: How Much Snow Did the Salem Area Get?

Many readers have asked, and we have an official answer.

Several readers have sent emails and texts asking us what the Blizzard of 2013 snowfall totals were for the Salem area.

The National Weather Service has provided some specifics on those totals, with dates and times of when they were recorded.

The town of Salem was not recorded according to the list, but fortunately border towns of Methuen and Pelham were, so those can provide a good barometer.

At 11:12 a.m. on Feb. 9, Methuen was recorded as having 24.5 inches of snow.

At 7:15 a.m. that same day, Pelham had 24 inches of snow.

Some other New Hampshire Patch towns had lesser totals, with Bedford netting 16 inches while Nashua was slammed for 22 inches.
