No Polling Place Changes For Next Two Elections

Town moderator offers reminder to vote where you've always voted Jan. 10.

By Christopher B. Goodnow, Salem Town Moderator

For the Jan. 10, 2012 presidential primary election and the March 13, 2012 town election the six existing polling locations will remain the same. There is no change.

While the selectmen did vote to implement a plan for the reduction in polling places from six to four that change does not commence until the Sept. 11, 2012 state primary election.

The only change for the upcoming election is that at three of the existing polling locations (the North Salem School, the Lancaster School and the Barron School) the voting will be held in the newly constructed multi-purpose rooms at those existing polling places. These multi-purpose rooms will be directly accessed from the exterior of the schools. The entrances to these multi-purpose rooms where the voting will be held are to the left of the traditional school entrances.

SUMMARY: For the next two elections the voters of Salem, N.H. will go to the same polling locations they traditionally have.
